We never made it to breakfast because we had a horrible night sleep due to very thin walls of hearing a child cry all night and people in the next room, which was confirmed by the front desk in the adjacent room, playing loud music and screaming. The air conditioning unit is not set to be as cold as the wall unit states. I asked it to go to at least 68° cool air and it was very uncomfortable and felt the most 74°. Unfortunately, overnight sometime as well, the electricity outlets stopped working and liquids in the refrigerator went warm, our phones and devices didn’t charge and left us without great phone battery for travel to enjoy the city. We couldn’t use their hairdryer and was very difficult getting ready in the morning to enjoy our day in Venice and we had to ask them to have it fixed while we were gone. The first night there we went to go eat at their attached restaurant and unfortunately, there was a severe erratic scene from a guest throwing furniture around and Police had to come although the restaurant did accommodate our needs and have us have the food sent to the room due to my daughter scared and crying from fear thanks to that irrational person, no credit or accommodations were ever given for any of these concerns and that for management…was very unexpected. They also had a safe in the room that did lock however, there was a open hole key access sticker folded up, so I did not feel comfortable leaving my stuff there knowing that the key lock was openly available for management to have access to it, regardless if they were kind people or not (the security of of my personal properties, passport IDs and any jewelry would not have been left there knowing that there was access to it easily). Not entirely safe! I also had the family executive room (1 of the larger rooms in that hotel) and it was a wonderful size. It was very nice however, the unfortunate things that happened, I would’ve loved to enjoyed it better.

Hotel Plaza is very well located if you're looking for something not so expensive and easy to get in and out from Venezia. Landing from VCE you can take the ATVO Express bus, which drops you no more than 3 minutes from the Hotel. It's a bit expensive but it's worth. Takes around 20 minutes and costs 10 euros per person per direction. If you buy online, you can also schedule departure and return which saves you some euros. Don't waste you time by getting to Venezia by trams or buses. Regional trains leave the Mestre station almost every 10 minutes, which is in front of the hotel, you really just need to cross the street, for 1.45 euros per person each direction and takes around 10 minutes to get to Venezia. The hotel also has good restaurant, which was our pick for the first night since we were pretty tired. They didn't mention here in Booking, but while there might not be an electrical kettle in your room, you can request hot water in that same restaurant from 6AM to midnight. You also have a supermarket 5 minutes walking from it which has a lot of options too. All the short interactions we had with the staff were always courteous, in well spoken English or Italian. One thing worth mentioning, but I'll not mention as a con, because I also didn't pursuit to change it, but the pillows were really hard. The bed itself was comfortable, but the pillow was like sleeping on a tree's trunk. I could/should ask for something softer, but after 6 hours of taking pictures and enjoying Venice, a good part of my body lacked skills to communicate and I just wanted to sleep, which I succeeded too. The breakfast is good. Nothing special, but nothing wrong with it at all. You get pancakes from a machine, croissants, cake and some hot food as well as coffee (duh!) and juices.

The main reason for booking this 4 star hotel was its location. Hotel Plaza Venice was very conveniently located opposite Venice Mestre main train station, ideal to go to the centre and explore the island. We were in the heart of Venice to hit all the tourist attractions via train from Venice Mestre to Venezia Santa Lucia in less than 15 minutes or so. The rooms were big and comfortable. The reception staff are very helpful and very professional. We were an hour early due to our train timings and they even kept our luggage in the store room and then later on transferred it in our rooms. They also stored our luggage after checkout so that we can enjoy our sight seeing before leaving Venice. We had requested our preference for rooms to be close together during booking and it was done for us. Very appreciative for that. As we had a long and tiring day we decided to eat the local cuisine in the restaurant which is convenient located in/near the hotel. There is a McDonalds and a small store right opposite inside the train station foyer too if required.

Not knowing the area we chose this Hotel because it was close to the Railway Transport hub and easy to get there from Marco Polo Airport. The inside of the place was pleasant, it had clean modern rooms (we stayed in the Executive Nova Double double rooms - which were their best rooms), comfortable beds and plenty of space. Highlights were the large walk-in rain shower, two (2) King Sized double beds to use and the international buffet breakfast. If staying the Nova Rooms you have access to a separate Lift which services those rooms meaning there was no wait. Situated very close to the Mestre Train Station (across the Street) which gave us instant access to Venice which was 6-8 minutes away by train. It had a Restaurant down stairs if you wanted to eat in, I rated the Restaurant 7/10.

We've only spend one night at this hotel which is literally in front of the Venezia Mestre train station. The rooms were ok for this purpose. We had an issue with one of the rooms we've booked (very strong strawberry smell) but the staff were great and they changed our room to another one. The rooms (the basic ones we've stayed in) most likely need some update. The hotel itself is clean, elevators are fast and the restaurant is good for lunch or dinner.
